Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance program at Fleming College is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices. The program emphasizes the development of skills in risk assessment, compliance auditing, incident investigation, and the implementation of effective health, safety, and environmental management systems.

Curriculum:

  1. Health and Safety Legislation: Students gain an understanding of the legal framework and regulations pertaining to health and safety in the workplace. They learn about relevant legislation, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.

  5. Incident Investigation and Emergency Response: Students develop skills in investigating workplace incidents, analyzing root causes, and developing corrective actions. They also learn about emergency response planning and management.

  6. Compliance Auditing and Inspection: This course focuses on conducting compliance audits and inspections to assess adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. Students learn how to identify deficiencies, develop corrective action plans, and ensure ongoing compliance.

Postgraduate Diploma:

  1. Academic Requirements:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum overall average of 60% in the final two years of the degree.
  • English proficiency as demonstrated through IELTS or TOEFL scores. The minimum IELTS score required is 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0, and the minimum TOEFL score required is 88 overall with a minimum score of 21 in each section.
  1. Additional Requirements:
  • Some programs may require applicants to have relevant work experience, submit a portfolio, letter of intent, resume, or other additional materials.

It is important to note that meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission into a program at Fleming College, as admission is competitive and based on space availability.
