How many hours can students work part-time in Germany?

In Germany, international students are allowed to work part-time under specific regulations:

- Students from outside the EU/EEA:
You are permitted to work 120 full days or 240 half days per year.
- A "full day" is typically considered 8 hours.
- During the semester, students usually work up to 20 hours per week during term time to avoid affecting their student status.
- During semester breaks, you can work full-time.

Important Points:
- Internships (paid or unpaid), voluntary or mandatory, are usually counted towards the 120/240 days limit.
- If you wish to work more than this limit, you must get special permission from the local employment office (Agentur für Arbeit) and the foreigners' authority (Ausländerbehörde).
- Working more than 20 hours per week during the semester is generally not allowed as it may affect your health insurance and student status.
