Yes, dependents are allowed for students going to the UK, but there are specific eligibility criteria:

Who can bring dependents to the UK?
- Only students enrolled in a full-time postgraduate course (RQF level 7 or above) lasting 9 months or longer at a government-approved higher education provider are eligible to bring dependents (spouse/partner and children).
- Most undergraduate students cannot bring dependents, except in certain government-sponsored programs.

Definition of Dependents:
- A dependent is your spouse or civil partner, unmarried partner, and children under 18 years old.

Financial Requirements for Dependents:
For each dependent, you must show you have additional funds for their living expenses:
- London: £845 per month (up to 9 months: £7,605 per dependent)
- Outside London: £680 per month (up to 9 months: £6,120 per dependent)

Application Process:
- Dependents apply for their visa at the same time as the main applicant or later as a 'dependant of a student'.
- They must provide proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificates, etc.) and meet the financial requirements.

Work Rights for Dependents:
- Spouses/partners of postgraduate students may work (with some restrictions), but cannot work as a professional sportsperson or coach.

Important Update:
