How many hours can international students work in the UK?

International students in the UK studying at degree level or above (such as undergraduate or postgraduate courses) with a valid Student visa are generally allowed to work:

- Up to 20 hours per week during term time.
- Full-time during official university holidays or vacation periods.

Important notes:
- The 20-hour limit is per week and cannot be averaged over a longer period.
- You cannot be self-employed, start a business, or work as a professional sportsperson or entertainer.

If you are studying a course below degree level, the work limit may be up to 10 hours per week during term time.

Always check your visa sticker (vignette) or Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) for your specific work conditions.
