As of now (June 2024), the UK government has announced several updates regarding student visa rules, but there is no official release yet specifically stating new rules for UK student visas in 2025. However, here are the most important updates and ongoing regulations that may affect students planning to study in the UK in 2025:

1. Dependent Visa Restrictions (from January 2024 onwards)

- Only postgraduate research students (such as PhD or research-based master’s) can bring dependents (spouse/children).
- Taught postgraduate students (such as regular master’s degrees) are no longer allowed to bring dependents to the UK.

2. Financial Requirements (UKVI Requirements)

- London: £1,483 per month (for up to 9 months)
- Outside London: £1,136 per month (for up to 9 months)
- You must show proof of these funds in addition to your tuition fees for your visa application.

3. Graduate Route (Post-Study Work Visa)

- Stay back option remains: 2 years for Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates, and 3 years for PhD graduates.
- There are no announced changes to the Graduate Route as of now.

4. English Language Requirements

- Standard requirements for IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, etc., continue to apply. Some universities may accept medium of instruction (MOI) for certain applicants.

5. Application Process & CAS Issuance

- Universities and colleges are expected to maintain strict checks while issuing the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
- Students must meet all academic and financial requirements.

6. Health Surcharge

- The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) is required as part of your visa application. The amount is subject to change, so please check for the latest updates close to your application date.
