Can students request a review of an assessment result?

Absolutely! Many universities abroad, especially in countries like the UK, Australia, the USA, Canada, and others, have formal processes in place for students to request a review or appeal of assessment results if they believe there has been an error or unfairness in marking.

• Here’s how it generally works:

• Each university has its own policy and process for assessment reviews or appeals.
• Policies are usually detailed on the university’s website or student handbook.

• Valid grounds often include: administrative errors, bias, or extenuating circumstances that were not considered.
• Disagreement with a mark alone is usually not sufficient unless accompanied by clear evidence.

• Students typically need to submit a formal request or appeal, often within a specific timeframe (e.g., 10-20 working days after receiving results).
• The request may require a written explanation and supporting evidence.
• The university may then review the assessment, sometimes involving a re-mark or independent review panel.

• If you need guidance on how to approach the appeals process for a specific university, Pollster Education can assist you in understanding policies, preparing documentation, and communicating with the university.

• Always check the exact procedure and deadlines on your university’s official website or contact the academic office directly.

If you let me know which country or university you’re interested in, I can provide more specific guidance on their assessment review process!
