Can I visit India in between my course or will my visa get cancelled?

Great question! Yes, as an international student, you can visit India during breaks or holidays while studying abroad. This is a common practice and your student visa will not be cancelled simply because you travel home during official university holidays or semester breaks.

Here’s what you should keep in mind:

1. Inform Your University

- Always inform your university or college about your travel plans, especially if you will be away for an extended period.
- Make sure you do not miss any classes, exams, or mandatory attendance requirements.

2. Visa Validity

- Ensure your student visa and passport are valid for your entire course duration and for re-entry into the country where you are studying.
- Carry all necessary documents (visa, passport, university enrollment letter, etc.) when you travel.

3. Immigration Rules

- If you leave the country during your studies, make sure you have the right visa to re-enter.
- Some countries may require you to notify immigration authorities or your university if you plan to leave and return during your studies.

4. COVID-19/Other Restrictions

- Check for any travel restrictions or requirements (e.g., COVID-19 guidelines, re-entry rules) in both India and your study destination.

5. UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and Other Countries

- UK: You can travel during official university holidays. Ensure your visa is valid for re-entry.
- USA: F-1 students can travel during breaks but must have a signed I-20 for re-entry.
- Canada: You may leave and return as long as your study permit and visa are valid.
- Australia: You can travel during semester breaks, as long as you remain enrolled and meet visa conditions.

In summary:
You are allowed to visit India during official breaks or holidays without risking your visa, as long as you follow your university’s and the country’s immigration rules.
