What should students check before booking an airport transfer?

Great question! Booking an airport transfer is a key step for students traveling abroad for their studies. Here’s a checklist of things students should consider before confirming an airport transfer:

1. Confirm Arrival Details

- Double-check your flight date, time, and terminal.
- Inform the transfer service of any updates or delays.

2. Reliable Service Provider

- Book with a reputable company or through university-recommended services.
- Check reviews and ratings online.
- If your university offers airport pickup, consider using their service for added safety and reliability.

3. Booking Confirmation

- Ensure you receive a confirmation email or receipt, including driver contact details and pickup instructions.
- Save the booking reference and emergency contact numbers.

4. Clear Meeting Point

- Know exactly where to meet your driver (arrival hall, specific gate, etc.).
- Check if the driver will display a sign with your name or the university’s logo.

5. Luggage Allowance

- Inform the service about your luggage size and number of pieces to ensure suitable vehicle size.

6. Cost Transparency

- Confirm the total fare, including any extra charges for late-night pickups, waiting times, or extra luggage.
- Check payment methods (online, cash, card).

7. Cancellation Policy

- Understand the cancellation or change policy—some services may charge for last-minute cancellations.

8. Emergency Backup

- Keep alternative local taxi numbers or ride-hailing apps (like Uber, Ola, Lyft, etc.) in case of any issues.
- Have your university’s international student helpline handy.

9. Travel Restrictions & Local Regulations

- Check if there are any COVID-19 protocols or entry requirements at your destination.
- Ensure you have all necessary documents for immigration and customs.

10. Personal Safety

- Avoid sharing personal details with unverified drivers.
- Confirm the vehicle and driver details before getting in the car.

11. Contact Information

- Share your arrival and transfer details with a trusted friend or family member.
