What are the main intakes for Canadian universities and colleges?

Canadian universities and colleges typically have three main intakes for international students:

1. Fall Intake (September)

- Most popular and largest intake
- Offers the widest choice of courses and programs
- Most scholarships and work opportunities available
- Application deadlines: Usually between December and March of the same year

2. Winter Intake (January)

- Also called Spring Intake by some institutions
- Good option if you miss the Fall intake
- Fewer courses available compared to Fall, but still a wide variety
- Application deadlines: Usually between July and September of the previous year

3. Summer Intake (May)

- Limited number of courses and programs, mostly diploma and certificate courses
- Not all universities and colleges offer this intake
- Application deadlines: Usually between October and February

---

Tips:
- Fall (September) is recommended for the widest program choices and opportunities.
- Application deadlines and availability of intakes may vary by institution and program, so it’s best to check with the specific university or college.
- Early application is advised, as seats fill up quickly and visa processing can take time.
