Is USA SEVIS fee refundable if my F-1 visa gets rejected?

No, the USA SEVIS fee is not refundable if your F-1 visa application is rejected.

The SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) fee is a mandatory fee paid to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to maintain your information in their system. Once paid, this fee cannot be refunded under any circumstance, including if your visa application is denied.

Additional information:
- If your visa is denied, but you reapply for the F-1 visa within 12 months using the same SEVIS ID, you do not need to pay the SEVIS fee again.
- If you defer your admission and receive a new I-20 with a new SEVIS ID, you will have to pay the SEVIS fee again for the new ID.
