Processing Time

- Standard Processing: The current official processing time for a Critical Skills Employment Permit is around 8 to 12 weeks from the date a complete and correct application is submitted to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), Ireland.
- Tip: Processing times may vary depending on the volume of applications and the completeness of your documentation. Applying early is recommended.

Eligibility for International Graduates

- You must have a job offer for at least 2 years, in a role listed on the Critical Skills Occupations List.
- The minimum annual salary must be:
- €38,000 (for certain specified occupations, usually those requiring a highly specialized skill or an honours degree)
- €64,000 (for all other eligible occupations)
- The job offer must be from an employer registered and trading in Ireland.

Post-Study Pathway

- If you graduate from an Irish higher education institution, you can avail the Third Level Graduate Scheme (Stamp 1G), which allows you to stay in Ireland for up to 2 years (for postgraduate degrees) to seek employment or apply for a work permit like the Critical Skills Permit.
