Which documents are required for Canada study permit?

- From a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada. This is a formal offer letter confirming your admission.

2. Proof of Funds


- You must show you have enough money to pay for:
- Tuition fees for your first year
- Living expenses for yourself and any family members accompanying you (minimum CAD 20,635 per year for a student outside Quebec, plus tuition and travel costs)
- Return transportation for yourself and accompanying family members
- Acceptable proof: bank statements (last 4–6 months), education loan letters, scholarship letters, GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate), or proof of paid tuition and accommodation fees.

3. Identity Documents


- Valid passport (all pages, including old passports if applicable)
- Photographs (as per Canada visa specifications, usually two recent passport-size photos)

4. Statement of Purpose (SOP)


- A letter of explanation describing why you want to study in Canada and how the program fits your academic/career goals.

5. Immigration Forms


- IMM 1294 – Application for Study Permit made outside of Canada
- Family Information Form (IMM 5645 or IMM 5707)
- Use of a Representative Form (IMM 5476), if applicable
