How much savings are required before Australia studies?

To study in Australia, you need to show proof of sufficient funds to cover your living expenses and tuition fees as part of your student visa application.

Living Expenses Requirement (2025 Update):
- As per the Australian Government (2025), you must show access to at least AUD 29,710 for 12 months of living expenses (for the main student).
- If you are bringing dependents, you need to show additional funds:
- Spouse/Partner: Add AUD 10,394 (approximate)
- Per child: Add AUD 4,449 (approximate)

Tuition Fees:
- You must also show evidence that you can pay your first year of tuition fees (the amount varies by course and university, usually mentioned on your offer letter).

Travel Expenses:
- You should also budget for a return airfare (amount varies by your country of origin, typically AUD 2,000–3,000).

Example Calculation for a Single Student:
- Living Expenses: AUD 29,710
- First Year Tuition Fees: (e.g., AUD 25,000 – varies by course)
