How much savings are required before France studies?

To study in France as an international student, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient financial resources to support yourself during your studies. The French authorities have set a minimum financial requirement for student visa applicants.

Savings Required for France Student Visa (2024/2025)

Minimum Amount:
You must show you have access to at least €615 per month for the duration of your stay (usually one academic year, i.e., 12 months).

Total for One Year:
€615 x 12 months = €7,380

How to Show Proof of Funds

You can provide proof of funds through:
- Recent bank statements (your own or your sponsor’s)
- A letter of financial guarantee from a sponsor (family member, etc.)
- Proof of scholarship, grant, or student loan
- A certificate of deposit from a French bank

Additional Tips:

- If you have accommodation arranged (such as university residence), and it is paid in advance, you may deduct this amount from the total required.
- Ensure the documents are recent (usually less than 3 months old) and clearly show your name and available balance.
