What backup funds needed for France?

For studying in France, international students are required to demonstrate sufficient financial resources as part of the student visa application process.

Backup Funds Requirement for France (Student Visa):

- Amount Required: As of the latest guidelines, you must show proof of funds equivalent to at least €615 per month for the entire duration of your studies (typically for one academic year, i.e., 12 months).
- Total for One Year: €615 x 12 = €7,380

Accepted Proof of Funds:
- Recent bank statements showing sufficient balance
- Proof of scholarship or grant (if applicable)
- A guarantor in France providing a financial undertaking (“attestation de prise en charge”)
- Proof of a loan or sponsor’s bank statement

Why is this required?
The French authorities need to ensure you can cover your living expenses (accommodation, food, transport, etc.) while studying in France, without needing to rely on employment.

Tip: The amount (€615/month) is the minimum required. It’s advisable to show a slightly higher amount to strengthen your application.
