How much bank balance is required for France visa?

For a France student visa, you must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover your living expenses during your stay in France. As per the latest requirements, you should show proof of funds equivalent to at least €615 per month for the duration of your studies.

For a one-year program:
€615 x 12 months = €7,380

How to show proof of funds:
- Recent bank statements in your (or your sponsor’s) name
- Proof of scholarship or grant (if applicable)
- Education loan sanction letter
- Sponsorship letter, if someone else is funding your studies

Additional Notes:
- The funds should be available in a savings or current account, not as fixed assets.
- The amount must be easily accessible and show a transaction history (usually the past 3-6 months).
- If you are staying with a host (family/friend) who provides accommodation, you may provide an attestation d’hébergement and the financial requirement can be lower.
