How important is financial proof for France visa?

Financial proof is very important for a France student visa application. The French authorities require international students to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay in France, without needing to work.

Why is Financial Proof Required?

- To ensure you can cover living expenses, accommodation, and other costs while studying.
- It is a key requirement for visa approval—without adequate financial proof, your visa application is very likely to be refused.

How Much Financial Proof is Needed?

- As of 2024, you are required to show a minimum of €615 per month for the duration of your stay (usually for one academic year, i.e., 12 months).
- Total required funds: €7,380 for one year.

What Forms of Financial Proof are Accepted?

- Recent bank statements (last 3–6 months)
- Proof of scholarship or sponsor’s financial guarantee
- Proof of student loan
- Letter of financial support from a family member (with their bank statements and ID)

Additional Notes:

- If you have arranged accommodation in advance, you may be able to show a lower amount for living expenses.
- All documents should be translated into French or English if they are in another language.
