How Much Funds Are Required?

- Tuition Fees: Varies by university and program (usually between USD 10,000 – 50,000 per year).
- Living Expenses: Typically, universities estimate between USD 10,000 – 18,000 per year for living costs (housing, food, transportation, etc.).

Total Estimated Funds:
Most universities will mention the "Cost of Attendance" on your I-20 form (which is required for your visa application). You must show proof of funds equal to or greater than the total amount listed on your I-20 for the first year.

Acceptable financial documents include:
- Recent bank statements (savings/current account)
- Fixed deposit receipts
- Loan sanction letters from recognized banks
- Scholarship award letters
- Financial guarantee letters (from sponsors or government agencies)

Important Notes

- You do not need to show funds for more than the first year, but you must provide a plan for how you will fund subsequent years.
- The funds must be "liquid" (readily available).
- Funds can be in your name, your parents’ or sponsor’s name.
