Can parents sponsor full education cost in UK?

Yes, absolutely! Parents can sponsor the full education cost for students studying in the UK. In fact, it is very common for Indian students to be financially supported by their parents or family members when applying for a UK student visa.

Here’s how it works:

1. Financial Requirements (as per UKVI – 2025/2026 Update)

- Tuition Fees: You need to show proof that you have enough funds to pay your first year’s tuition fees (or the full course fees if your course is less than one year).
- Living Expenses: As of 11 November 2025,
- London: £1,529 per month (up to 9 months = £13,761)
- Outside London: £1,171 per month (up to 9 months = £10,539)

2. Sponsorship by Parents

- Acceptable: UKVI accepts financial sponsorship by parents for student visa purposes.
- Proof Required: You will need to provide:
- Recent bank statements (usually last 28 days) showing the required funds in your parents’ account.
- A letter from your parents confirming they will sponsor your education and living expenses.
- Proof of relationship (such as your birth certificate showing your parents’ names).

3. Additional Points

- Funds can be held in Indian banks, but only certain types of accounts are accepted (e.g., savings or fixed deposits; cooperative bank funds are usually not accepted).
- Education loans and scholarships can also be used as proof of funds.

4. Application Process

- When you apply for your UK student visa, you must include these financial documents as part of your application.
- Pollster Education can help you prepare your financial documentation to ensure it meets all UKVI requirements.
