What percentage is required to study in France?

To study in France, the percentage requirement depends on the level of study (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD), the university, and the course you are applying for. However, here are the general guidelines:

For Bachelor’s Programs:

- Minimum Percentage: Most French universities require at least 60% in your 12th standard (Higher Secondary Certificate) for undergraduate admissions.
- Competitive Programs: Top universities and selective courses may require 70% or above.

For Master’s Programs:

- Minimum Percentage: You should have at least 55%–60% in your undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s).
- Top Universities: For highly ranked or competitive programs, a minimum of 65%–70% is often preferred.

Important Notes:

- Language: For English-taught programs, you must also demonstrate English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL scores). For French-taught programs, DELF/DALF or TCF/TEF scores are required.
- Other Factors: Some institutions may consider your academic profile holistically, including SOP, LORs, and extracurriculars.
- Grandes Écoles: These highly prestigious institutions may have higher academic requirements.
