How long is Canada post graduate work permit?

The Canada Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) allows international students who have completed a program of study at an eligible Canadian institution to work in Canada after graduation.

Duration of the PGWP:
- The length of the PGWP depends on the duration of your study program:
- Program less than 8 months: Not eligible for a PGWP.
- Program at least 8 months but less than 2 years: Work permit will be valid for the same length as your study program (e.g., a 12-month program = 12-month PGWP).
- Program 2 years or more: You may be eligible for a 3-year PGWP.

Important Notes:
- You can only receive a PGWP once in your lifetime.
- The PGWP is an open work permit, allowing you to work for any employer, anywhere in Canada.
- The work experience gained can help you qualify for permanent residency in Canada through various immigration programs.
