Newcastle - England

INTAKE: September

Program Overview

The Combined Honours degree is structured to provide flexibility and depth. In the first stage, students equally divide their studies among their chosen subjects. As they progress to stages two and three, they have the option to adjust the weighting of each subject, allowing for a major-minor focus or continued equal emphasis. This structure enables a personalized educational experience that evolves with the student's developing interests.

Curriculum: The curriculum is designed to foster both academic and professional growth. Students engage in project-based learning, experiential modules, and have the option to study abroad. Final-year projects encourage independent research, with support from supervisors, allowing students to delve deeply into topics that intersect their chosen disciplines.

Research Focus: While the Combined Honours program emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, students are encouraged to undertake research that bridges their selected subjects. The final-year project serves as a culmination of this research focus, enabling students to contribute original insights that reflect their unique academic combinations.

Industry Engagement: Newcastle University maintains strong connections with various industries, offering students opportunities for work placements, internships, and real-world projects. These experiences are designed to enhance employability by providing practical skills and professional networks, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for diverse career paths.

Global Perspective: The program encourages a global outlook by offering study abroad opportunities. Students studying a language can spend a year abroad, while those in other disciplines may opt for a semester or a full year overseas. These experiences broaden cultural understanding and global awareness, enriching both personal and academic development.
