Program Overview

Queen Mary University of London offers a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Honours degree program in Mechanical Engineering. This program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and applications of mechanical engineering. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical training, and hands-on projects, students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of mechanical engineering.

The BEng Hons Mechanical Engineering program at Queen Mary University of London covers a broad range of subjects, including mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, control systems, and design principles. Students learn about the fundamental principles of mechanical systems, including their design, operation, and maintenance.

The curriculum is carefully structured to provide a balance between theory and practical application. Students have access to well-equipped laboratories and facilities, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in areas such as computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and finite element analysis (FEA). They also have the opportunity to work on industry-inspired projects, applying their knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.

Students develop important transferable skills that are highly valued in the job market. These skills include problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, project management, and communication skills. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively on group projects, enhancing their ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate complex ideas.
