Program Overview

This one-year, full-time program is structured to provide a deep understanding of materials science principles, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Curriculum: In the first semester, students delve into fundamental subjects such as Phase Transformations and Microstructural Control, Structure-Property Relationships, and Materials Selection and Failure Analysis. The second semester offers advanced modules like Sustainable Materials Manufacturing, Deformation, Fracture, and Fatigue, and Solid State Chemistry. Throughout the program, students engage in hands-on laboratory work, utilizing state-of-the-art facilities to reinforce their learning.

Research Focus: The program places a strong emphasis on research, encouraging students to undertake an extensive project that begins in the second semester and continues through the summer.
