Program Overview

This three-year full-time course allows students to explore the complexities of modern societies alongside contemporary HRM practices. The curriculum is designed to be flexible; students can choose to major in one subject while minoring in the other or study both equally. A distinctive feature of the program is the opportunity to undertake a year-long placement in an HRM setting, providing practical experience that enhances employability.

Curriculum: The curriculum integrates core modules from both sociology and HRM. Sociology modules delve into topics such as social policy, childhood and war, extremism and counter-terrorism, conspiracy theory, humor and society, politics and social movements, Marxism, and social theory. HRM modules focus on contemporary perspectives of managing people within business contexts, emphasizing the strategic role of HRM in organizational success. The program employs diverse teaching methods, including lectures, seminars, multimedia presentations, online collaborations, guest lectures, and class debates. 

Research Focus: Faculty members are engaged in research areas such as social policy, childhood and war, extremism and counter-terrorism, conspiracy theory, humor and society, politics and social movements, Marxism, and social theory. Students have the opportunity to participate in research seminars and guest lectures delivered by leading professionals and academics, enriching their academic experience and providing exposure to current scholarly work. ​

Industry Engagement: The program emphasizes practical experience through opportunities such as a year-long HRM placement or a semester abroad.
