Program Overview

This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates academic learning with hands-on practice, ensuring that students are well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of adult patients. The course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), aligning with their "Future nurse: Standards of proficiency for registered nurses." Students have the option to study at either the Derby or Chesterfield campus, with intakes available in September and January.

Year 1 focuses on foundational subjects such as Introduction to Nursing, Health Sciences for Nursing Practice, and Person-Centred Nursing Care. The final year emphasizes Leadership for Nursing Practice, Innovation and Improvement in Nursing Practice, and Transition to Autonomous Practitioner. ​
