Program Overview

This MA program offers three distinct pathways: Film, Documentary, and Scriptwriting. Students are guided through the entire content creation process, culminating in the production of a short film, documentary, or full-length screenplay. The course emphasizes practical skills, encouraging students to experiment and develop their unique voices within a supportive and creative community. 

Curriculum: The curriculum is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of film and screen production. Modules include Research Methods, Practical Content Production, Research by Practice, and a Creative Project in Film or Documentary or an Advanced Research Project. Students engage in both theoretical and practical learning, developing skills in storytelling, technical production, and critical analysis. ​

Research Focus: For those interested in academic research, the program offers an Advanced Research Project option. This involves conducting an in-depth critical review of the theoretical and historical dimensions of one's practice, serving as a strong foundation for further study, such as practice-based doctoral research. ​
