Program Overview

BEng in Computer Science and Electronics at the University of Bristol is an exciting undergraduate degree program that combines the fields of computer science and electronics, preparing students for a wide range of career opportunities in the technology industry. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to design, develop, and deploy computer systems and electronic devices.

The program is delivered by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol, both of which are renowned for their research excellence and industry collaborations. Second  year, students will delve deeper into specialized subjects, such as software engineering, computer networks, microcontrollers, digital signal processing, and electronic device design. They will also have the opportunity to apply their knowledge through practical projects and research-based assignments.

Third year, students will undertake an individual or group project, allowing them to explore a specific area of computer science and electronics in depth. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply their theoretical knowledge and technical skills to real-world problems and challenges. They will also have the chance to choose from a range of optional modules to further specialize in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, or advanced digital design.

  • Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 85% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.
  • English language proficiency is essential, and students are required to provide evidence of their English language skills through an approved language test.
    • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6.
    • TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 88, with at least 22 in Listening, 24 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, and 20 in Writing.
    • PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 66 with no individual score below 60.
  • Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.
