Academic Qualifications: Applicants for undergraduate programs typically require a minimum academic achievement of 65% or above in their previous academic qualifications.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
• TOEFL: Overall score of 79 or higher.
• DET (Duolingo English Test): Overall score of 110.

Global Excellence Scholarship: The Global Excellence Scholarship is awarded to international students who have demonstrated academic excellence and have a strong commitment to contributing positively to the UMass Lowell community. This scholarship recognizes students who embody the values of global citizenship and leadership.

UMass Lowell Merit Scholarships: Apart from specific scholarships for international students, UMass Lowell also offers a range of merit scholarships that international students may be eligible for. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and other criteria.

Donor-Funded Scholarships: UMass Lowell has various donor-funded scholarships that provide financial assistance to international students from specific countries or regions. These scholarships may be awarded based on the country of origin, academic achievements, or other specific criteria defined by the donors.

Registered Nurse (RN): As a registered nurse, graduates provide direct patient care in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. RNs are responsible for assessing patient needs, administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. They work in specialties such as medical-surgical, pediatrics, geriatrics, and critical care.

Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS): Clinical nurse specialists are advanced practice nurses who provide specialized care in specific areas such as cardiology, oncology, or neurology. They focus on improving patient outcomes through advanced clinical practice, consultation, and education. CNSs often work in hospitals, specialized clinics, or academic settings.

Nurse Practitioner (NP): Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses who provide a range of healthcare services, including diagnosing and treating medical conditions, prescribing medications, and managing patient care. NPs can work in primary care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and various specialty areas. The B.S. in Nursing program provides a strong foundation for those pursuing advanced practice roles through additional education and certification.

Public Health Nurse: Public health nurses focus on improving community health through education, preventive care, and health promotion. They work in public health departments, community organizations, and non-profit agencies, addressing health issues on a population level and developing programs to promote wellness and prevent disease.

Nursing Educator: Nursing educators teach and mentor future nurses in academic settings such as nursing schools and universities. Nursing educators play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals and advancing the field through education and research.

Nursing Administrator: Nursing administrators manage nursing teams and healthcare operations in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. They are responsible for overseeing staffing, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.

Healthcare Consultant: Healthcare consultants provide expert advice to healthcare organizations on improving operations, enhancing patient care, and complying with regulations. They analyze data, develop strategies, and recommend solutions to address challenges in the healthcare system. Consultants may work independently or as part of consulting firms.

Case Manager: Case managers coordinate care for patients with complex medical needs, ensuring they receive appropriate services and resources. They work with patients, families, and healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans, manage transitions of care, and address social and medical needs. Case managers work in hospitals, insurance companies, and community health organizations.

Home Health Nurse: Home health nurses provide care to patients in their own homes, focusing on managing chronic conditions, providing post-operative care, and supporting rehabilitation. They work closely with patients and their families to deliver personalized care and ensure adherence to treatment plans.

Occupational Health Nurse: Occupational health nurses work in corporate and industrial settings to promote employee health and safety. They provide medical assessments, manage workplace health programs, and address work-related injuries and illnesses. This role involves collaborating with employers to develop health and safety policies.
