Graduates of the Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) program from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) are well-prepared for rewarding careers in diagnostic medical imaging. They possess specialized skills in operating imaging equipment, interpreting medical images, and providing patient care.

Radiographer: Radiographers perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound examinations. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to capture clear and accurate images that aid in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.

MRI Technologist: MRI technologists specialize in operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce detailed images of internal body structures. They ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures and collaborate with radiologists to analyze and interpret MRI images.

CT Technologist: CT technologists operate computed tomography (CT) scanners to create cross-sectional images of the body. They prepare patients for scans, administer contrast agents when necessary, and assist radiologists in interpreting CT images for accurate diagnosis.

Ultrasound Technologist: Ultrasound technologists use high-frequency sound waves to create images of organs, tissues, and blood flow within the body. They perform ultrasound scans on patients, interpret images, and collaborate with healthcare teams to assess and diagnose medical conditions.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Nuclear medicine technologists administer radioactive drugs to patients and use specialized cameras to create images of how these drugs interact with organs and tissues. They work with nuclear medicine physicians to diagnose and treat diseases such as cancer and heart conditions.

Radiation Therapist: Radiation therapists administer radiation treatments to patients with cancer and other diseases. They operate radiation therapy equipment, monitor patient responses to treatment, and ensure treatment plans are delivered accurately and safely.

Medical Imaging Educator: Graduates interested in teaching and academia can pursue careers as medical imaging educators. They educate and train future radiographers and technologists, develop curriculum materials, and contribute to the advancement of medical imaging education.
