Program Overview

The M.A. in Communicative Disorders program at CSULA provides students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the assessment and treatment of communication disorders.The M.A. in Communicative Disorders curriculum at CSULA includes a combination of academic coursework, clinical practicum, and research experiences.  These courses provide students with a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and clinical skills necessary for the assessment and treatment of communication disorders.

Curriculum:

  1. Accreditation and Certification: The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Successful completion of the program prepares students for professional certification as speech-language pathologists.

  2. Clinical Training: The program emphasizes hands-on clinical training to develop practical skills in diagnosing and treating communication disorders. Students have access to the CSULA Speech and Hearing Clinic, where they gain supervised clinical experience working with clients of various ages and communication disorders.

Postgraduate Admissions:

  • A minimum undergraduate degree with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 60% or higher.
