Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Application Fee: AUD $50

Academic Qualifications: Applicants for undergraduate programs typically require a minimum academic achievement of 65% or above in their previous academic qualifications.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: Overall band score of 6.0 or 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
• TOEFL: Overall score of 79 with a minimum of 16 in each section.
• PTE (Pearson Test of English): Overall score of 58 with a minimum of 50 in each section.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

Griffith International Student Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship is designed to support high-achieving international students enrolling in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs at Griffith University. The scholarship provides a 25% tuition fee reduction for the duration of the program.

Griffith Sports Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship recognizes talented athletes who have achieved a high level of sporting excellence. It offers financial support and academic flexibility to assist student-athletes in balancing their sporting and academic.

Equity Scholarships: Griffith University offers a range of equity scholarships to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, including financial hardship, Indigenous Australians, students with disabilities, and regional and rural students. These scholarships provide financial assistance and additional support services.

International Student Support Scholarship: This scholarship is aimed at supporting international students who may be facing financial difficulties during their studies. It provides a one-time payment to assist with living expenses.

Griffith Honours College Scholarship: This scholarship is available to high-achieving students who have been accepted into the Griffith Honours College program. It provides financial assistance and access to exclusive academic and professional development opportunities.

Graduates of Griffith University's Bachelor of Public Health program are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to pursue a variety of rewarding careers in the field of public health. 

Public Health Officer/Coordinator: Graduates may work as public health officers or coordinators in government health departments, non-profit organizations, or community health centers. They develop and implement public health programs and interventions aimed at improving population health outcomes. Responsibilities may include conducting needs assessments, designing health promotion campaigns, and collaborating with community stakeholders to address health disparities.

Epidemiologist: Some graduates may pursue careers as epidemiologists, studying the distribution and determinants of disease in populations. They analyze health data, investigate disease outbreaks, and identify risk factors for infectious and chronic diseases. Epidemiologists work in public health agencies, research institutions, and healthcare organizations, contributing to disease surveillance, prevention, and control efforts.

Health Educator/Promoter: Graduates may work as health educators or promoters, developing and delivering educational programs and resources to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles. They may conduct workshops, seminars, and outreach activities on topics such as nutrition, physical activity, sexual health, and tobacco cessation. Policy Analyst/Advocate: Some graduates may pursue careers as policy analysts or advocates, working to influence public health policies and legislation at local, national, or international levels. Policy analysts may work for government agencies, advocacy groups, or research organizations, advocating for policies that address social determinants of health and advance health equity.

Environmental Health Officer: Graduates may work as environmental health officers, ensuring compliance with environmental health regulations and standards to protect public health. They inspect and assess environmental hazards such as air and water pollution, food safety risks, and occupational hazards. Environmental health officers work in government agencies, local councils, or private consulting firms, implementing measures to mitigate environmental health risks and promote environmental sustainability.

Health Researcher: Some graduates may pursue careers as health researchers, conducting research studies to advance knowledge in public health and contribute to evidence-based practice. They may work in academic institutions, research organizations, or healthcare settings, investigating topics such as health disparities, health policy evaluation, or program effectiveness. Health researchers publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences, contributing to the evidence base for public health practice and policy.

Health Program Manager: Graduates may work as health program managers, overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs and initiatives. They manage budgets, coordinate staff, and monitor program outcomes to ensure effective delivery of services. Health program managers work in government agencies, non-profit organizations, or international development agencies, leading efforts to address health priorities such as maternal and child health, infectious disease control, or health promotion.

Global Health Specialist: Some graduates may specialize in global health, working on international health projects and initiatives to improve health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. They may work for non-governmental organizations (NGOs), humanitarian agencies, or multilateral organizations, addressing global health challenges such as infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and access to healthcare services.
