Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in 3D Computer Animation program at Conestoga College is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to create high-quality 3D animations for various industries such as film, television, gaming, and advertising.   3. Character Rigging and Animation: Students explore the process of creating skeletal structures (rigs) for characters, enabling them to move and deform realistically. They also learn advanced animation techniques to breathe life into their characters.

  4. Visual Effects and Dynamics: This course covers the creation of dynamic simulations such as particle systems, cloth, and fluid effects, allowing students to add realistic and visually stunning elements to their animations.

  5. Lighting and Rendering: Students learn how to create and manipulate lighting setups to enhance the mood and atmosphere of their scenes. They also explore the rendering process to produce final, photorealistic images.

  6. Storytelling and Storyboarding: This course focuses on the art of storytelling and the creation of storyboards to plan and communicate ideas effectively. Students learn how to develop compelling narratives and translate them into visually engaging animations.

  1. Postgraduate Diploma Programs:

    • Academic Requirement: Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55% overall average.
    • English Language Proficiency: International students must demonstrate proficiency in English by meeting the minimum requirements in one of the following tests:
      • IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with no individual band score below 6.0.
      • TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 88 on the Internet-based test (iBT), with a minimum score of 21 in each section.
      • PTE: A minimum overall score of 58, with no communicative skills score below 50.
