Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Applicants for undergraduate programs typically require a minimum academic achievement of 80% or above in their previous academic qualifications.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: Overall band score of 6.0 or 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
• TOEFL: Overall score of 82 with a minimum of 18 in each section.
• PTE (Pearson Test of English): Overall score of 65 with a minimum of 65 in each section.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

The University of Western Australia (UWA) offers a range of scholarships to assist students with the cost of their education. These scholarships are available for both domestic and international students and cover a variety of disciplines.

UWA International Achievement Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to high-achieving international students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA. The scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fee for up to one year.

UWA Global Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to high-achieving international students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA. The scholarship covers up to AUD 45,000 over three years.

UWA Fogarty Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to Western Australian students who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership potential. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees, accommodation, and an allowance for living expenses.

UWA Research Training Program Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to domestic and international students who are enrolled in a research degree at UWA. The scholarship covers tuition fees and provides a stipend to assist with living expenses.

UWA Indigenous Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to Indigenous Australian students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees and provides an allowance for living expenses.

UWA Sports Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding sporting ability and potential. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees and provides an allowance for living expenses.

UWA Music Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding musical ability and potential. The scholarships cover the full cost of tuition fees and provide an allowance for living expenses.

Composer and Arranger: Graduates can pursue careers as composers and arrangers, creating original music for concerts, films, television, video games, and other media. They can work independently or for production companies, music publishers, and entertainment industries.

Music Educator: Graduates can become music educators, teaching in schools, colleges, universities, and private studios. They can teach instrumental or vocal music, music theory, music history, and composition, inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Music Therapist: With additional certification, graduates can work as music therapists, using music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. They may work in hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centers, and private practices.

Music Director and Conductor: Graduates can work as music directors and conductors for orchestras, choirs, bands, and theater productions. They are responsible for selecting music, leading rehearsals, and conducting performances.

Sound Engineer and Producer: Graduates can work as sound engineers and producers in recording studios, live sound environments, and broadcast media. They can oversee the technical aspects of recording, mixing, and producing music and audio content.

Musicologist and Researcher: Graduates can pursue careers as musicologists and researchers, studying the history, theory, and cultural aspects of music. They can work in academic institutions, research organizations, libraries, and museums, contributing to scholarly knowledge and publications.

Music Publisher and Editor: Graduates can work in music publishing, managing the rights, distribution, and promotion of musical works. They may also work as editors, preparing music scores and educational materials for publication.

Arts Administrator and Manager: Graduates can work as arts administrators and managers, overseeing the operations of music organizations, festivals, and cultural institutions. They can manage budgets, coordinate events, and develop programs to promote music and the arts.

Film and Game Music Composer: Graduates can specialize in composing music for films, television shows, and video games. They can create scores that enhance the narrative and emotional impact of visual media, working closely with directors and producers.

Music Librarian: Graduates can work as music librarians in academic institutions, public libraries, and media organizations. They manage music collections, assist researchers, and provide access to musical scores, recordings, and literature.
