Program Overview

The Honours Bachelor of Photography program at Sheridan College is designed to cultivate students' artistic talents and technical skills while fostering critical thinking and creative expression. Through a combination of hands-on learning, theoretical coursework, and practical experience, students develop a deep understanding of photography as both an art form and a professional practice. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including digital imaging, traditional darkroom techniques, visual storytelling, and professional practices in the photography industry. Curriculum:

  1. Technical Proficiency: The program emphasizes technical proficiency in both digital and analog photography techniques. Students learn how to use professional camera equipment, lighting systems, and digital editing software to capture and manipulate images effectively. They also gain hands-on experience with traditional darkroom processes, mastering the art of film development, printing, and enlarging.

Through assignments, projects, and critiques, they experiment with different genres, approaches, and visual concepts, honing their ability to communicate ideas and emotions through images. Academic Requirements: International students applying for undergraduate programs at Sheridan College should have a minimum academic achievement of 65% or above in their previous educational qualifications.

English Language Proficiency:

  • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5, with no band score less than 6.
  • TOEFL: A minimum score of 88 on the internet-based test (iBT).
  • PTE Academic: A minimum score of 60.
  • DET Score: A minimum DET score of 115.
