Program Overview

The Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences – Kinesiology and Health Promotion program at Sheridan College provides students with a comprehensive understanding of human movement, physical activity, and health promotion strategies. Over the course of four years, students explore a diverse range of topics, including exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, nutrition, psychology of physical activity, and health behavior change. The program integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experiences, allowing students to apply concepts learned in the classroom to real-world settings. Curriculum:

  3. Clinical and Field Placements: Students have opportunities to gain real-world experience through clinical placements, internships, and fieldwork experiences in settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, fitness facilities, schools, and community organizations. They work under the supervision of experienced professionals, gaining practical skills and building professional networks in the field.

  4. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: The program emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention strategies, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and positive health behaviors in individuals and communities. Students learn about health education, behavior change theories, and strategies for addressing health disparities and promoting health equity.

Academic Requirements: International students applying for undergraduate programs at Sheridan College should have a minimum academic achievement of 65% or above in their previous educational qualifications.

English Language Proficiency:

  • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5, with no band score less than 6.
  • TOEFL: A minimum score of 88 on the internet-based test (iBT).
  • PTE Academic: A minimum score of 60.
  • DET Score: A minimum DET score of 115.

They analyze health data, develop public health policies and programs, and implement interventions to address health disparities, promote health equity, and improve population health outcomes.

Wellness Consultant: Graduates with entrepreneurial ambitions may start their own wellness consulting businesses, offering services such as health coaching, fitness training, and workplace wellness program development. They provide personalized health assessments, develop tailored wellness plans, and deliver ongoing support to clients striving to improve their health and well-being.
