Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 60% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.

English language proficiency: 

• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0 or 6.5 with no individual component below 5.5.
• TOEFL: A minimum score of 79, with a minimum of 17 in each component.
• PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 54 with no individual score below 51.
• Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.

Students must provide:

• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

Psychiatric Liaison Nurse: Psychiatric Liaison Nurses work in hospital settings, providing mental health assessments and support to individuals who present with mental health issues in emergency departments, medical wards, or other healthcare settings. They collaborate with medical teams to ensure that individuals receive appropriate mental health care and support during their hospital stay.

Mental Health Team Leader/Manager: Experienced Mental Health Nurses may progress into leadership or management roles within mental health services, overseeing clinical teams, managing resources, and coordinating service delivery. Mental Health Team Leaders/Managers provide leadership, supervision, and support to staff members, ensuring high-quality care and effective service provision.

Mental Health Educator/Trainer: Mental Health Nurses may pursue careers in education and training, providing teaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to nursing students, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders. They may work in universities, healthcare organizations, or training institutes, sharing their expertise and promoting best practices in mental health nursing.

Specialist Mental Health Practitioner: Some Mental Health Nurses choose to specialize in specific areas of mental health care, such as substance misuse, forensic mental health, child and adolescent mental health, or older adult mental health. They develop advanced skills and knowledge in their chosen specialty area, providing specialized care and interventions to individuals with complex mental health needs.

They may work in academic institutions, healthcare organizations, or research institutes, conducting research studies, collecting data, and disseminating findings to inform nursing practice and policy.

They collaborate with emergency services, mental health professionals, and community organizations to ensure timely and appropriate responses to crisis situations.

Consultant Nurse/Advanced Nurse Practitioner: Experienced Mental Health Nurses may progress into advanced practice roles, such as Consultant Nurse or Advanced Nurse Practitioner, where they take on additional responsibilities in clinical practice, leadership, education, research, or service development. These roles may involve providing expert clinical advice, leading service improvement initiatives, or developing innovative models of care within mental health services.
