Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: International students applying for undergraduate programs at the University of Salford should have a minimum academic qualification of 65% or above in their respective educational systems.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0 or 6.5 with no individual component below 5.5.
• TOEFL: A minimum score of 88, with a minimum of 19 in each component.

Costume Supervisor: Graduates can work as costume supervisors, overseeing the production and execution of costumes on set or in the theatre. Costume Maker/Technician: Graduates can specialize as costume makers or technicians, responsible for constructing and assembling costumes based on the designer's specifications. Costume Buyer/Sourcer: Graduates can pursue careers as costume buyers or sourcers, responsible for sourcing costumes, fabrics, and accessories for productions. They research historical periods, styles, and trends to ensure authenticity and accuracy in costume design, while also negotiating contracts and managing budgets to secure the necessary materials within project constraints.

Costume Illustrator/Concept Artist: Graduates with strong drawing and illustration skills can work as costume illustrators or concept artists, responsible for creating visual representations of costume designs. They collaborate with costume designers to develop initial concepts and translate them into detailed sketches and renderings that guide the costume creation process.

Prop Maker/Craftsperson: Graduates can explore careers as prop makers or craftspersons, specializing in creating props, accessories, and specialty items for productions. They use a variety of materials and techniques to fabricate custom props that enhance the visual storytelling and atmosphere of film, television, and theatre productions.

Educator/Trainer: Graduates can pursue careers in education or training, teaching costume design, fashion history, or related subjects at schools, colleges, or specialized training institutions. They may also offer workshops, masterclasses, or private tuition to aspiring costume designers and industry professionals, sharing their expertise and passion for costume design.
