Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Applicants should have completed their secondary education or equivalent with a minimum of 60% or above in the relevant subjects.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: Overall score of 6.0, with no individual band score below 5.5.
• TOEFL: Overall score of 72-88.
• PTE (Pearson Test of English): Overall score of 51-59.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

University of West London International Ambassador Scholarships: These scholarships are available to international students applying for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course. The scholarship offers a fee reduction of up to £5,000 for the first year of study.

University of West London International Scholarships: UWL offers a number of international scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The scholarships provide a fee reduction of up to £5,000 for the first year of study.

University of West London International Music Scholarships: These scholarships are specifically for talented musicians who wish to study at UWL. The scholarships offer a fee reduction of up to £2,000 for the first year of study.

University of West London Care Leaver Bursary: This bursary is available to students who are care leavers. It provides financial support to help cover living costs and other expenses.

University of West London Progression Scholarship: This scholarship is for UWL graduates who wish to pursue a postgraduate course at the university. It offers a fee reduction of up to 15% for eligible students.

University of West LondonSports Scholarship: This scholarship is aimed at talented athletes who have represented their country, county, or region in their chosen sport. It provides financial support, mentoring, and access to sports facilities.

The BMus (Hons) Music Performance program at the University of West London prepares students for diverse and rewarding career paths in the music industry. Graduates of the program possess a strong foundation in music theory, performance techniques, and professional skills, enabling them to pursue various roles within the field of music performance.  

1. Professional Musician: Many graduates choose to pursue careers as professional musicians, performing in orchestras, bands, ensembles, or as solo artists. They may specialize in a particular genre such as classical, jazz, pop, rock, or world music, depending on their interests and expertise. Professional musicians often work in a variety of settings, including concert halls, recording studios, theaters, clubs, and festivals.

2. Session Musician: Graduates may also work as session musicians, providing instrumental or vocal performances for recording sessions, film scores, television shows, commercials, and live performances. Session musicians are hired by recording studios, producers, composers, and artists to contribute to specific projects, requiring adaptability, versatility, and strong sight-reading skills.

3. Music Educator: Some graduates pursue careers in music education, teaching instrumental or vocal lessons, leading school music programs, or working as private tutors. They may teach at schools, colleges, universities, community music schools, or conservatories, imparting their knowledge and expertise to aspiring musicians of all ages and skill levels.

4. Arts Administration: Graduates may find opportunities in arts administration, working for music organizations, concert venues, festivals, or performing arts centers. They may take on roles in artist management, concert production, marketing, promotions, fundraising, or arts advocacy, contributing to the management and promotion of music events and programs.

5. Music Therapy: Some graduates pursue careers in music therapy, using music as a therapeutic tool to improve the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of individuals with various needs. Music therapists work in healthcare settings, schools, rehabilitation centers, mental health facilities, and community organizations, providing individual or group therapy sessions tailored to each client's goals and needs.

6. Composer or Arranger: Graduates with strong composition and arranging skills may pursue careers as composers, arrangers, or music producers, creating original music for film, television, video games, commercials, theater productions, or other multimedia projects. They may work independently or collaborate with directors, producers, and other creatives to bring their musical ideas to life.

7. Music Technology: Some graduates may explore careers in music technology, specializing in audio engineering, sound design, music production, or music technology research and development. They may work in recording studios, post-production facilities, software companies, or as freelance audio professionals, using their technical skills to create, manipulate, and enhance sound recordings.
