Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 60% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.

English language proficiency:

• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0 with no individual component below 5.5.
• TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 76, with at least 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, and 18 in Writing.
• PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 59 with no individual score below 5.9
• Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

It is important to note that meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission, as the university considers factors such as availability of places and competition for the program. Additionally, some courses may have higher entry requirements or additional selection criteria, such as interviews or portfolio submissions.

International Plymouth Global Scholarships: These scholarships are designed to attract high-caliber international students to the University of Plymouth. The scholarships provide a partial tuition fee reduction for the first year of study.

Sport Scholarships: The university offers sport scholarships to talented athletes who have achieved a high level of sporting excellence. The scholarships provide support in the form of financial assistance, training, and access to sports facilities.

Historian: Historians conduct research, analyze historical sources, and interpret events, societies, and cultures from the past. They may work in academia, museums, archives, or government agencies, producing scholarly works, teaching courses, curating exhibitions, or providing historical expertise for documentaries, films, or media projects.

Archivist: Archivists manage and preserve historical records, documents, and artifacts in archives, libraries, or cultural institutions. They organize collections, create finding aids, and provide access to historical materials for researchers, historians, and the public. Archivists may specialize in areas such as digital archives, special collections, or records management.

Museum Curator: Museum curators oversee collections, exhibitions, and educational programs in museums, galleries, or heritage sites. They research artifacts, develop exhibition themes, and engage with diverse audiences to promote understanding and appreciation of history and culture. Museum curators may work in art museums, history museums, natural history museums, or cultural heritage institutions.

Educator/Teacher: Graduates with a BA (Hons) in History may pursue careers in education, teaching history at primary, secondary, or tertiary levels. They develop curriculum materials, deliver lectures, and facilitate discussions to inspire students' interest in history, critical thinking, and historical literacy. History educators may work in schools, colleges, universities, or educational outreach programs.

Historical Researcher: Historical researchers conduct archival research, analyze primary sources, and investigate historical topics for academic, governmental, or commercial purposes. They may work for research institutes, historical societies, or publishing companies, producing research reports, articles, or books on topics such as local history, genealogy, or historical events.

Heritage Manager: Heritage managers oversee the preservation, interpretation, and promotion of cultural heritage sites, landmarks, or historic buildings. They develop conservation plans, manage restoration projects, and engage with stakeholders to ensure the sustainable management and utilization of heritage resources for public enjoyment and education.

Public Historian: Public historians engage with communities, organizations, and the public to present history in accessible and engaging ways through exhibitions, public programs, or digital platforms. They may work in cultural institutions, historical societies, or government agencies, promoting historical awareness, civic engagement, and cultural heritage preservation.

Historical Consultant: Historical consultants provide expertise and advice on historical matters for film productions, television programs, historical reenactments, or public history projects. They research historical accuracy, advise on costume and set design, and ensure authenticity in historical narratives portrayed in various media formats.
