Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 60% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.

English language proficiency:

• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0 with no individual component below 5.5.
• TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 76, with at least 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, and 18 in Writing.
• PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 59 with no individual score below 5.9
• Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

It is important to note that meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission, as the university considers factors such as availability of places and competition for the program. Additionally, some courses may have higher entry requirements or additional selection criteria, such as interviews or portfolio submissions.

Film Director: Film directors are responsible for overseeing the creative aspects of a film production, including interpreting the script, working with actors, and making artistic decisions regarding cinematography, editing, and sound design. Graduates with a BA (Hons) in Filmmaking can pursue careers as film directors, directing feature films, short films, documentaries, or television episodes.

Screenwriter: Screenwriters are responsible for crafting the script for films, television shows, and other visual media. They develop characters, plotlines, and dialogue that engage audiences and bring stories to life on screen. Graduates with a background in filmmaking can work as screenwriters, writing scripts for film production companies, television networks, or streaming platforms.

Cinematographer/Director of Photography: Cinematographers, also known as directors of photography (DPs), are responsible for capturing the visual essence of a film through the use of camera work, lighting, and composition. They work closely with directors to achieve the desired aesthetic and mood for each scene. Graduates with expertise in cinematography from the BA (Hons) Filmmaking program can pursue careers as cinematographers, working on film productions, commercials, music videos, or documentaries.

Film Editor: Film editors play a crucial role in shaping the narrative and structure of a film through the selection and arrangement of footage. They work closely with directors and producers to assemble raw footage into a cohesive and compelling story. Graduates with skills in editing from the BA (Hons) Filmmaking program can work as film editors, editing feature films, television shows, advertisements, or corporate videos.

Producer: Producers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of a film production, from development and financing to post-production and distribution. They collaborate with directors, writers, and crew members to bring a film project to fruition. Graduates with a BA (Hons) in Filmmaking can pursue careers as producers, producing independent films, studio productions, or digital content for online platforms.

Film Critic/Reviewer: Film critics and reviewers analyze and evaluate films, providing insights and opinions on their artistic merits, storytelling techniques, and cultural significance. They may write reviews for print publications, online platforms, or broadcast media. Graduates with a passion for film criticism from the BA (Hons) Filmmaking program can work as film critics, contributing to film magazines, newspapers, websites, or blogs.

Film Festival Programmer/Curator: Film festival programmers and curators select and organize films for screenings at film festivals and events. They seek out new and innovative films, coordinate screening schedules, and engage with filmmakers and audiences. Graduates with knowledge of filmmaking and film history from the BA (Hons) program can work as film festival programmers, curating film programs for international festivals, regional events, or online platforms.
