Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 60% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.

English language proficiency:

• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 7.0 with no individual component below 6.5.
• TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 76, with at least 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, and 18 in Writing.
• PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 59 with no individual score below 5.9
• Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

Community Mental Health Nurse: Community mental health nurses provide care and support to individuals with mental health conditions in community settings, including patients' homes, outpatient clinics, and day treatment programs. They conduct home visits, deliver psychoeducation, coordinate services, and liaise with other healthcare providers and community agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients living in the community. Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist: Some graduates may choose to specialize in mental health crisis intervention, working in crisis intervention teams, emergency departments, or crisis hotlines. They assess individuals in crisis, provide immediate support and stabilization, and facilitate access to appropriate mental health services and resources. Crisis intervention specialists play a crucial role in de-escalating crises, reducing hospitalizations, and connecting individuals with ongoing mental health support.

Substance Abuse Counselor/Addiction Nurse: Graduates with an interest in addiction and substance abuse may pursue careers as substance abuse counselors or addiction nurses. They work with individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, providing counseling, education, and support to facilitate recovery and sobriety. Substance abuse counselors and addiction nurses may work in detoxification centers, rehabilitation facilities, or outpatient addiction treatment programs, helping individuals overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: With additional education and training, graduates can become psychiatric nurse practitioners, providing advanced psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals with mental health disorders. Psychiatric nurse practitioners may prescribe medications, provide psychotherapy, and manage ongoing care for patients with chronic mental health conditions. They work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care.

Researcher/Academic: Some graduates may choose to pursue careers in research or academia, conducting research studies, contributing to the evidence base for mental health nursing practice, and teaching future generations of nurses. They may work in academic institutions, research centers, or healthcare organizations, exploring new interventions, evaluating treatment outcomes, and advancing knowledge in the field of mental health nursing.

Policy Advocate/Healthcare Administrator: Graduates interested in healthcare policy and administration may pursue careers as policy advocates, healthcare managers, or administrators. They work to influence healthcare policies, advocate for improvements in mental health services, and manage healthcare organizations or programs. Policy advocates and healthcare administrators play a crucial role in shaping mental health policy, allocating resources, and improving access to mental health services for individuals and communities.
