Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications: International students applying for undergraduate programs at DMU are typically required to have a minimum of 65% or above in their high school or secondary school qualifications.

English language proficiency:

• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0 with no individual component below 5.5.
• PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 59 with no individual score below 59.

Students must provide:

• academic marksheets & transcripts
• letters of recommendation
• a personal statement - SOP
• passport
• other supporting documents as required by the university.

It is important to note that meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission, as the university considers factors such as availability of places and competition for the program. Additionally, some courses may have higher entry requirements or additional selection criteria, such as interviews or portfolio submissions.

1. Vice-Chancellor's Sports Scholarship:The Vice-Chancellor's Sports Scholarship is awarded to talented athletes who have represented their country at a national level or have achieved exceptional performance in their sport.This scholarship provides a cash award of up to £6,000 per academic year, along with other benefits such as access to sports facilities, sports science support, and mentoring from elite athletes.Eligible students need to apply for this scholarship and go through a selection process that includes an application and an interview.
2. International Alumni Scholarship:The International Alumni Scholarship is available to international students who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at DMU and wish to pursue a further postgraduate study.This scholarship offers a tuition fee reduction of up to 20% for the duration of the postgraduate program.To be eligible, students need to have achieved a minimum of a second-class honors degree or equivalent in their previous study at DMU.
3. Academic Excellence Scholarship:The Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to high-achieving international students entering a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at DMU.For undergraduate students, this scholarship provides a £3,000 fee reduction for each year of study, while postgraduate students receive a £3,000 discount on their tuition fees.Eligibility is based on academic merit, and students are automatically considered for this scholarship upon submitting their application.
4. DMU International Scholarship:The DMU International Scholarship is available to international students who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to enhancing the international student community at DMU.This scholarship offers a £2,000 tuition fee reduction for the first year of study for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.Eligibility is based on academic achievement, personal statement, and a short essay on contributing to the international student community.
5. Regional Scholarships:DMU also offers a range of regional scholarships for students from specific countries or regions.These scholarships aim to promote cultural diversity and strengthen educational ties between DMU and international communities.The eligibility criteria, benefits, and application process for regional scholarships may vary, and students should refer to the official DMU website for specific information.

Graduates of the LLB (Hons) Law program at DMU are well-equipped to pursue a variety of legal careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. 

1. Solicitor: Graduates may choose to qualify as solicitors by completing the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and securing a training contract with a law firm. They may work in various legal practice areas, such as corporate law, litigation, real estate, family law, or criminal law, providing legal advice and representation to clients.

2. Barrister: Graduates interested in advocacy may pursue a career as a barrister by completing the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and obtaining pupillage at a barristers' chambers. They represent clients in court proceedings, draft legal pleadings and opinions, and provide specialist legal advice on complex legal issues.

3. Legal Executive: Graduates may choose to qualify as legal executives by completing the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) qualifications and gaining practical legal experience. They work in legal roles similar to solicitors, handling cases and providing legal services under the supervision of a solicitor or barrister.

4. In-House Counsel: Graduates may work as in-house counsel for corporations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, or other entities. They provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including contracts, regulatory compliance, employment law, intellectual property, and commercial transactions.

5. Legal Academia: Some graduates may pursue academic careers in law by undertaking further study and research, such as a Master of Laws (LLM) or a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in law. They may work as lecturers, researchers, or professors at universities, contributing to the development of legal scholarship and education.
