Program Overview

The University of Bristol's BSc in Economics and Econometrics with Study Abroad is a four-year undergraduate program that prepares students for a variety of careers in economics, finance, business, and government. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of economic theory, quantitative analysis, and empirical methods, as well as their applications in various industries.

First two years of the program introduce students to the fundamental concepts of microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics, statistics, and econometrics. Students are taught to analyze economic data and develop models that can be used to predict and understand economic phenomena. They also learn about different economic systems, the role of government in the economy, and how markets function.

Third year, students study abroad at one of the University of Bristol's partner institutions in Europe, North America, or Asia. Studying abroad provides students with an opportunity to gain international experience and develop a global perspective on economics and econometrics. During this year, students take courses that are equivalent to those taught at Bristol and can transfer credits back to the university.

Fourth year, students take advanced courses in econometrics, macroeconomics, and microeconomics. They also have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as labor economics, financial economics, or international trade. In addition to coursework, students complete a research project or dissertation on a topic of their choice, which allows them to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout the program.

  • Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 85% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.
  • English language proficiency is essential, and students are required to provide evidence of their English language skills through an approved language test.
    • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6.
    • TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 88, with at least 22 in Listening, 24 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, and 20 in Writing.
    • PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 66 with no individual score below 60.
  • Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.
