Program Overview

BSc in Economics at the University of Bristol is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in economic theory and analysis, as well as practical skills for tackling real-world economic issues. The course covers a broad range of topics, from micro and macroeconomics to econometrics, financial markets, and global trade. Second year, students have the opportunity to specialize in areas of interest through optional modules. These may include labor economics, public economics, financial economics, development economics, or economic history, among others. Students will also take courses in econometrics, mathematical economics, and economic theory.

Third year of the program, students complete a research project and undertake more advanced courses in micro and macroeconomics, econometrics, and financial economics. They may also choose from a range of optional modules, including behavioral economics, game theory, industrial organization, and international trade.

  • Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 85% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.
  • English language proficiency is essential, and students are required to provide evidence of their English language skills through an approved language test.
    • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6.
    • TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 88, with at least 22 in Listening, 24 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, and 20 in Writing.
    • PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 66 with no individual score below 60.
  • Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.
