Program Overview

BSc Hons International Business with a Year Abroad is a highly popular program offered by Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. This four-year undergraduate degree is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of international business practices, while also offering an opportunity to gain valuable work experience through a year-long study abroad program.

The course is structured to equip students with a solid foundation in the principles of business management and economics, while also exposing them to the complexities of global business.

First year, students will study core modules such as Introduction to International Business, Introduction to Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Organisational Behaviour, and Quantitative Methods.

Second year, they will delve deeper into topics such as International Business Strategy, International Human Resource Management, International Marketing, and International Finance.

Third year is dedicated to a study abroad program, where students will have the opportunity to experience a new culture and gain hands-on experience in an international business setting. They can choose to study at one of the university's partner institutions or secure a placement with an international organisation. This year is designed to give students a unique perspective on global business practices and enhance their intercultural communication and adaptability skills.

Fourthl year, students will return to Queen Mary University of London to complete their studies. They will undertake modules such as Globalisation and International Business, International Economic Relations, and International Entrepreneurship. They will also have the option to choose from a range of elective modules, including topics such as Emerging Markets, International Business Ethics, and International Trade Law.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements:

  • Applicants should have successfully completed their secondary education with a minimum overall score of 80% or equivalent in their respective country's grading system.
  • English language proficiency is essential, and students are required to provide evidence of their English language skills through an approved language test.
    • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6.0.
    • TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 92, with at least  21 in Writing, 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.
    • PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 71 overall and 65 in Writing, and 59 in Speaking ,Reading, Listening and.
  • Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.
