ENTRY REQUIREMENTS for International Students:

Application Fees: CAD $ 125

Academic Requirements: International students should have a minimum average of 65% or equivalent in their high school or secondary school studies. This average is calculated based on the applicant's best six academic courses.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: An overall band score of 6.5, with no individual band score less than 6.
• TOEFL: A minimum score of 90 on the internet-based test (iBT).
• PTE: A minimum score of 65 on the Pearson Test of English.
• DET: A minimum score of 105 on the Duolingo English Test.

The scholarship amounts range from $5,000 to $15,000 per year.

External Scholarships: UNBC also encourages international students to explore external scholarship opportunities. The university provides resources and information about external scholarships that international students can apply for, including government scholarships, private foundations, and international organizations.

International Student Work Study Program: UNBC offers an International Student Work Study Program that provides on-campus employment opportunities for international students. This program allows students to gain work experience while studying and earn income to support their education.

Donor-Funded Scholarships: UNBC has a range of donor-funded scholarships that are available to both domestic and international students. These scholarships are supported by generous contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses who value education and want to support students in their academic journey.

Environmental Consultant: Environmental consultants work with businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to assess environmental impacts, develop sustainability strategies, and ensure compliance with regulations. They conduct environmental assessments, provide recommendations for mitigating environmental risks, and help organizations adopt sustainable practices.

Sustainability Coordinator/Manager: Sustainability coordinators or managers are responsible for developing and implementing sustainability initiatives within organizations. They analyze environmental performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to reduce environmental footprint, conserve resources, and promote sustainable practices across operations.

Environmental Policy Analyst: Environmental policy analysts work for government agencies, think tanks, and advocacy organizations to analyze environmental policies, regulations, and legislation. They conduct research, assess policy impacts, and provide recommendations for developing and implementing effective environmental policies that address pressing environmental issues.

Conservation Scientist: Conservation scientists study ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and natural resources to develop conservation strategies aimed at preserving biodiversity and protecting natural ecosystems. They conduct field research, analyze data, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans that promote sustainability and habitat restoration.

Sustainability Educator: Sustainability educators work in educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and community groups to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable lifestyles. They develop educational materials, deliver workshops and presentations, and engage with diverse audiences to inspire action and foster environmental stewardship.

Environmental NGO Officer: Environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) officers work for environmental advocacy groups, conservation organizations, and community-based initiatives to address environmental challenges and promote sustainability. They coordinate campaigns, engage stakeholders, and advocate for policies and practices that protect the environment and promote social justice.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist: CSR specialists work for companies to develop and implement corporate social responsibility strategies that integrate environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic prosperity. They engage with stakeholders, assess social and environmental impacts, and implement initiatives to enhance corporate sustainability and community engagement.

Environmental Journalist: Environmental journalists report on environmental issues, sustainability initiatives, and conservation efforts for newspapers, magazines, websites, and broadcast media. They research and write articles, conduct interviews with experts and stakeholders, and communicate complex environmental topics to the public to raise awareness and promote informed decision-making.

Community Development Officer: Community development officers work with communities, indigenous groups, and grassroots organizations to empower local stakeholders, build capacity, and facilitate sustainable development initiatives. They collaborate with community members, facilitate participatory decision-making processes, and support projects that enhance environmental sustainability, social equity, and economic resilience.
