Curriculum: The MSc Business Analytics program comprises four core units, two optional units, and a culminating dissertation project. In the first term, core units lay the foundation in areas such as data preparation, statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization. The second term offers elective options, allowing students to specialize in topics like social media analytics, optimization algorithms, and ethical considerations in analytics. The program emphasizes practical application, with opportunities to work on real-life business problems through consulting projects with external clients.

Research Focus: Students undertake a dissertation project during the summer term, applying their acquired knowledge to research a topic of personal interest. This project enhances critical analysis skills and involves exploring real-world business challenges, developing practical solutions, and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.

Industry Engagement: The program offers robust industry engagement through consulting projects facilitated by the Professional Liaison Network (PLN). Students collaborate with organizations such as Barilla, Yeo Valley, the Financial Times, IBM, and Bristol Airport, addressing managerial challenges across various sectors. These projects cover diverse topics, including resource allocation optimization, people analytics, customer segmentation, and performance measurement.

Global Perspective: Recognizing the global demand for business analytics professionals, the University of Bristol has designed this program to prepare graduates for international careers. Postgraduate Entry Requirements:

  • Applicants should have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution with a minimum overall score of 65% or equivalent.
  • English language proficiency is required, and applicants must provide evidence of their English language skills through an approved language test.
    • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6.
    • TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 85, with at least 20 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, and 20 in Writing.
    • PTE Academic: A minimum overall score of 65 with no individual score below 60.
  • Some postgraduate programs may have specific subject prerequisites or additional requirements.
